Susan was at the threshold of a new chapter in her life when it was tragically cut short.  Jeannete Pachetti, a '62 Knight and friend of Sue,  posted the correction for Sue's last name and later sent the following comment about her short life:

"Sue married Carl Spletzer not long after graduation.  Carl and Sue were traveling to Gary, Indiana to meet his family when they were hit head-on by another automobile.  Carl was asleep in the back seat of their car and was seriously injured, and Sue died at the scene of the accident."
