Comments:

Joined the Peace Corps and was sent to Honduras in 1964. Turned out to be a seminal life experience. Married Betsy in 1972 and was a Spanish Speaking Social worker for seveal years while she taught high school.
Moved from our ranch in Morgan hill back to Menlo Park to start our family in 1976.
I took a job as a commercial/industrial salesperson with C&C in Palo Alto. Became a partner in the new Commercial Company and enjoyed helping to build it into a powerhouse. Wonderful having been a part of the early Silicon Valley.
"Retired" to start a new career growing cabernet grapes in Napa Valley in 2000. Went back to school at Napa Valley College for a degree in Viticulture in 2005.

We are proud to grow premium cabernet sauvignon on our ranch here in the Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley. Life is very good!

School Story:

Hiking and more recently, bicycling have been some of the hobbies I enjoy. I have ridden a bike across country 3 times now, most recently, in 2011 from San Diego to St. Augustine, Fla.
In 2013 walked the Camino de Santiago across Northern Spain.
In 2016 plan to bicycle across country again. This time from Bar Harbor to Anacortes, Wa.
Did it! 4,000 miles in 76 days. Must admit, it's getting tougher.

What's the farthest you've been from home?

Provedenia, on the Kamchatka Peninsula in the north
and now the South Pole in Antarctica in the south.

Kilimanjaro to the east and Tibet to the west.

In May of 2013 I will leave to walk the Camino de Santiago in Spain solo.

In May of 2016 I began my third bicycle ride across country, this time the 4200 mile Northern Tier from Bar Harbor to Anacortes, WA. Yesterday passed the 1000 mile mark in Port Stanley, Ontario. Should be home mid August. Cheers!

Life Events

On December 28th I will fulfill a dream first conceived in 1990 when I had the opportunity to visit Antarctica. Reading of Shackleton's heroic exploits kindled both respect and curiosity about this most unknown continent.

I leave shortly to traverse the 'Last Degree' on hybrid skis to the South Pole. I will have a guide and will have to pull an 80 pound sled containing all my supplies. Temperatures should be in the 30-40 degree below zero.
If all goes well I should be back mid to end of January 2019.

What a surprise to hear of Steve's passing. I came to LAHS in my junior year and did not get to know many of my classmates. I do remember that the 50th Year Class Reunion wine party at his vineyard. His invitation to come and share this bounty was one that Linda and I did not want to pass up. We learned about his giving/caring nature. He will be missed. Rest in Peace!
