On May 6th, a US Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Government Affairs, held a full Committee Hearing, which was teleconferenced entitled Roundtable - COVID-19: How New Information Should Drive Policy.

The teleconference provided testimony from several experts in medicine, economics, and statistics, which was chaired by Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson (R), with an opening statement by Ranking Member Gary C. Peters D (MI).

The video is just over three hours long. If you go to close to 49 minutes in the video, the first speaker giving witness testimony is Dr. Pierre Kory, M.D., M.P.A., Medical Director, Trauma & Life Support Center, Critical Care Service Chief, Associate Professor of Medicine, Univ. of Wisconsin School of Medicine & Public Health. He is a member of the Front Line COVID-19 Critical Care Working Group, the information concerning this group, is posted in my original post.

On Friday May 8th, an excellent overview of the hearing, "Expert Testimony Before Senate Contradicts Media’s COVID-19 Narrative," was written by Dennis Behreandt and published online by The New American. Even though the publication is considered a far-right print and digital magazine (I am not far-right), it is spreading the work and the protocol of Dr. Kory and his Critical Care Working Group, also the additional information from the committee's expert witnesses.

On May 4th, the person who posted this Orthomolecular Medicine News Service article, got blocked and put in Face Book jail. This article is a historical look, starting in the 1940s, with Dr. Klenner using IV vitamin C for successfully treating numerous viruses, including polio. Then transgressing into Dr. Pauling and Dr. Cameron's work, with IV vitamin C for treating cancer, with Dr. Mark Levine, et al, from NIH confirming Pauling and Cameron's early work. The article, then continues on and discusses the current usage of IV and oral vitamin C in China, and the orient, thus establishing the protocol to treat COVID - 19.

Vitamin C and Coronavirus: Not a Vaccine; Just a Humble Cure -

Terrific 3-minute animated video by the International Society for Orthomolecular Medicine (ISOM) on "how much of what supplement to take to help prevent COVID." YouTube took this down at least twice but intrepid health nuts (bless them!) have replaced it. ALSO AT:

On Monday, May 18, 2020, the Townsend Letter - The Examiner of Alternative Medicine, posted an article "Hospital-Based Intravenous Vitamin C Treatment for Coronavirus and Related Illnesses."

Specific Instructions for Intravenous Vitamin C

"The Japanese College of Intravenous Therapy (JCIT) recommends intravenous vitamin C (IVC) 12.5/25g (12,500 – 25,000 mg) for acute viral infections (influenza, herpes zoster, common cold, rubella, mumps, etc.) and virus mimetic infections (idiopathic sudden hearing loss, Bell’s palsy). In adults, IVC 12.5 g is given for early stage illness with mild symptoms, and IVC 25 g for moderate to severe symptoms. IVC is usually administered once or twice a day for two-to-five continuous days, along with or without general treatments for viral infections."

The authors in the article state:  New Federal Right to Try Act

"The new federal Right to Try Act provides patients suffering from life- threatening diseases or conditions the right to use investigational drugs  It amends the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act to exempt investigational drugs provided to patients who have exhausted approved treatment options and are unable to participate in a clinical trial involving the drug. Advocates of right to try laws have sought to accelerate access to new  drugs for terminally ill patients who are running out of options. Arguably, the law does not represent a radical change in this and several other   states, however, because in 2016, California had already joined the majority of other states in adopting a law enabling physicians to help terminally ill patients pursue investigational therapies, without fear of Medical Board or state civil or criminal liability. The new Right to Try law should give physicians, as well as drug manufacturers, some added comfort about FDA enforcement in these cases.8

"This is the updated version of the film. Hear from doctors and academics around the world on the success of Vitamin C for treating patients infected by the virus in this current pandemic. They explain when and how Vitamin C should be used in ICU units and why it is Vitamin C's role in managing an immune response that is so key."

Intravenous vitamin C for reduction of cytokines storm in acute respiratory  distress syndrome

"The recent outbreak of Covid19 has required urgent treatments for numerous patients. No suitable vaccines or antivirals are available for Covid19. The efficiency against Covid19 of WHO therapies of choice, that  are two antivirals developed for other pathologies, is controversial. Therefore, alternative approaches are required. Intravenous (IV) Vitamin C (Vit-C) has emerged as one of the other alternatives for this purpose. Here we review the effects of IV Vit-C on the immune system response, the antiviral properties of IV Vit-C, and finally the antioxidant properties of IV Vit-C to specifically address the cytokines' storm characteristicof the  Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) that occur in the later cycle of the Covid19 infectious disease."

Actual Study Start Date - April 8, 2020

"We aim to see whether ascorbic acid and zinc gluconate which has limited side effect profile and is readily available over the counter can decrease the duration of symptoms seen in patients with new diagnosis of COVID-2019. A secondary purpose is to see whether Zinc and/or Ascorbic acid supplementation can prevent progression of the severe manifestations of the disease including development of dyspnea (difficult or labored breathing) and acute respiratory distress syndrome which may require hospitalization, mechanical ventilation, and or lead to death."

Newt Gingrich, former Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, interviews Dr. Paul Marik MD for a pod cast. "Part 2: In the midst of the coronavirus health crisis, doctors and scientists are searching for new therapies until there is a vaccine or cure. Newt interviews Dr. Marik about intravenous ascorbic acid and corticosteroid treatments for critical COVID-19 patients. Could it help save lives?"
