David Brown

David Stuart Brown

May 15, 1944 - January 15, 2020

David is survived by his wife, Kathy Taylor Brown, LAHS class of 1966.  Kathy said David had been in poor health for seventeen years and was dealing with multiple critical illnesses at the time he was moved to a residential care facility about a year ago.   No obituary was published, and no service was held, in part because shortly after David's passing, Kathy was hospitalized with pneumonia complicated by asthma.  As of this posting on 3/18/20, she is still recovering.

Dave and I were close friends for many years.  We shared our love of cars and sports.  We lost touch when I went into the Army in 1966.  I often think of him and the adventures we shared.  He was one of life's really good guys and will be missed.  RIP my friend.  John

Sunkist lane was a quiet dead in street back in the very early 50s. Myself, Jimmy Appleby, Bobby Means, Margret Means, and Dave all enjoyed the adventures that street provided. One street over Rick Williams and Johnny Mattick moved in. Living across the street from Dave it was always easy to get together and play catch. The last time I talked to Dave was at a reunion 20 maybe 25 years ago. There are not may of us left that searched for play and adventure on Sunkist Lane.

Rest In Peace Dave it will be hard to play hot pepper baseball without you

Dear Friends of Dave,  Dave's sister Judy Brown Atwell would love to reconnect with those of you who knew her brother.  She was a little behind us in school, graduating in '71.  Judy's email address is uglybunnybakedgoods@yahoo.com.  She also is on Facebook as Judy Brown Atwell.  Hugs to everyone!  Liz

So sorry to hear of Dave's passing. I recall where is house was on Sunkist Lane, such a wonderful place to grow up with the cul-de-sac at the end for ball games and block parties. Rest in peace Dave. You're part of the Means Family memory bank😇
